…an explosion of angels sunlight, sub-zero on fresh snow – sun blind – from pitch dark into light light of truth – light of knowledge – light of wisdom blinding realization – astonished dazzled – stunned blinded by the light

In five parts, Blinded by the Light explores encounters with bright light both physical, exterior light and personal, internal light. The flute part leads this exploration while simultaneously experiencing it. The piano provides space, atmosphere and additional percussion as well as enhanced resonance created by an electric guitar placed on the soundboard and amplified.*

I am deeply grateful to Kathy Jones for her Buccaneer spirit, her generosity and our long friendship. Buccaneers together, we are off on the great adventure of music.

Note: You will need to locate an electric guitar which lies flat on the plate ribs of the piano in the lower range, leaving room for you to pluck strings in the upper two and half octaves. Arrange the connecting cable of the guitar to amplifier so that it does not interfere with any resonance from the strings.
