Composer's Notes:
When Peter Hendrickson suggested a new work for the Passion for Life concert, I searched for words to express the theme and found Galina's poem, Live! We Will Live! This extraordinary poem expresses the infinite will of the spirit to survive against all odds, and dignifies the belief that the spirit exists freely and marvelously, beyond all boundaries of time and the human condition. That the poem exists is proof of its theorem. Its universality seems to fly in the face of current trends of cultural specificities. The poem soars as, I hope, the music does.
