Composer's Notes:
The joy in composing I find my feet have further goals lay in finding a musical realization of Emily Dickinson’s spare words which travel across the page in small, thoughtful steps, leading the reader along the poem’s path of gentle self-discovery and inevitable change. The music itself leads your ears along this same path with melodic intervals and pitches that combine to arrive in one tonality only to move to another – always arriving, always moving beyond.
